About me and this blog

I'm known online as Eden or EdenFails, So that is what I will go by.
I have completed a computer science honours degree, I got a first 😏
I enjoy computing, mostly software development!

Because I enjoy software development, I decided to start this journey where I learn Cobol.

For those of you that don't know, (From what I currently know before starting) Cobol is a dated language, it is close to assembly and machine code meaning it is hard to learn.
Unfortunately there is so much infrastructure built around Cobol meaning people need to learn it urgently.
So I'm basically a hero 🦸
As of this post I haven't learned anything major about Cobol, so this will be a fun journey and I hope you stick around to see the progression, follow along and maybe even help out?

This blog will hopefully follow a similar tone to this post, not to formal, a light slightly joke filled adventure!

(please note, I am hosting this blog on my own server, if it ever goes offline I'm probably just doing some maintenance!)
